Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP)
Northwest Territories (NWT) is the name given to one single expansive territory where unique journeys of mind came to reality.
NWT’s pride is a genuine adventure of mind, body and spirit all year round. A territory where the famous Aurora Boarealis can be witnessed together with greatest fish stories and the resident of Aboriginal cultures, uniquely vibrant in our northern world.
The NTNP is the Northwest Territories’ Provincial Nominee Program. This program is created to help employers in Northwest Territories secure workers they need for their businesses. An applicant with the skills and experience targeted by the province may receive a Northwest Territories Provincial Nomination Certificate, which will allow him/her to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence with processing times that are faster than other Canadian immigration stream.The NTNP accepts applications under three immigration programs, each with their own set of stream:
- Northwest Territories Express Entry
- Employer Driven Program
- Business Driven Program
Northwest Territories — Express Entry Stream
Aligned with federal express entry system, you may qualify if you are a skilled worker in the federal Express Entry pool with a job offer from an eligible Northwest Territories employer and willing to work and live in the province.
Employer Driven Program
Critical Impact Worker Stream
You may qualify if you have received an offer of employment in a semi-skilled or unskilled position from an NWT employer. Applicants must have already worked in the position in the Northwest Territories for a minimum of six months.
Skilled Worker Stream
You may qualify if you have received a valid offer of employment in a skilled or unskilled position from an NWT employer.
Business Driven Program
Entrepreneur Stream
You may qualify if you are entrepreneur or owner-operators of business who wish to establish a business in the Northwest Territories. Businesses in all economic sectors are welcome to apply; however, businesses that will introduce a new product or a product of significant benefit to the Northwest Territories are given priority.
Self Employed Stream
NOTE: The Self Employed Stream of the NTNP’s Business Driven Program is permanently closed.
